BIG CHARLIE  is an animated biographical video on the events surrounding the Frank Slide, which occurred on April 29, 1903 in the town of Frank, located south of the Canadian Rockies. The Frank Slide is a geological disaster of the past century, whereby 90 million tons of limestone from nearby Turtle Mountain buried half the town. Research on the Frank Slide began during my artist residency at The Banff Centre in Banff, Canada. In this piece, the process of transformation is utilized literally and figuratively as a formal and conceptual strategy in the unfolding of narrative.
